Joy in the Mourning was filmed as a part of the 2006 168 Hour Film Project in Los Angeles. This film contest challenges film makers to create a short film based on an assigned Bible verse. Joy in the Mourning is a film about a brother and sister finding their way a year after their parents' death. It is based on the Bible verse 1 Peter 1:7, "These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."
